Custom Stratocaster assembled with handmade loaded pickguard
This Union Jack designed Stratocaster will please UK guitar players. I assembled it with a loaded pickguard featuring the parallel and series setting, as well as a warm switch and a six position varitone.
The guitar has a 22 frets Maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard. The body is made out of Basswood.
Pickups are Wilkinson MWHS type.
- MWHSN 5.6K DC ( Neck)
- MWHSM 5.6K DC (Middle)
- MWHSB 6.1K DC ( Bridge)
The parallel and series setting deliver three additional pickup setting.
In the first position the selector render the regular Stratocaster setting while the selector switch is activated you get three new sounds that are:
- Neck and middle in series
- Neck and middle in parallel with the bridge in series
- Neck and bridge in series
The series setting sounds extremely close to humbucker sound. It’s very interesting to play either jazzy clean sound or fatter and larger lead sound with distortion.
The warm switch changes the volume pot value. It offers two different bass filters to the sound, whatever the capacitor selected on the Varitone.
Check out this video below to see a demo of the pickguard. The guitar used in the video is different, but the pickguard is exactly the same.
