Heathen_Tour_BowieZiggy went back to Mars

A sad news is everywhere in social media this morning. David Bowie is gone. At the time I’m writing, I learned the sad story 10 minutes ago. The first reaction I had was to write a tribute to this fantastic artist.

David Bowie reminds me so many memories. When I was young, and I mean really young, like 13 years old, we were listening in loop vinyl albums like Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane, and Pin Ups. Without forgetting the first enigmatic double album, the one with the moon on the cover, just entitled: David Bowie.

David Bowie first seven albums are among the greatest in rock history, and Ziggy is certainly in the top 10 of the best album ever. I have spent so many hours listening to it. That album is just perfect, all the songs are fantastic, and Mick Ronson playing has turned me into music, along with Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page.

I have seen him live at the Forum in Montreal at the end of the 80s. I’m not so sure about the year. It was in his commercial days, and I wasn’t listening to his new stuff back then, but I always stuck to the first seven albums….

David Bowie is one of the heroes of my youth.  My childhood is finally gone, forever.

Goodbye Mr. Bowie, rest in peace.

After Lemmy, now Bowie. January is a bad month for rock and roll.
