Free MP3 music ringtones seem to be one of the newest and hottest trends right now. I’m sure you’ve all noticed that when you hear a cell phone ringing on the street or in a store, the phones don’t just have standard ringtones anymore, but now they sing songs. Where do these ringtones come from? There seems to be such a wide range of possibilities that no one seems to have the same ring.

There are several websites on the Internet that offer free music sounds. However, there is normally some kind of limitation on cell phones. For example, you may need to have some type of cell phone or provider. Others offer free music ringtones as a bonus for purchasing their other products.

Advantageously, many telephones are delivered with links to sites allowing the downloading of ringtones directly via the telephone. this feature is common among newer phone brands and helps reduce the time it takes to get quality ringtones. Most phone manufacturers allow a certain amount of free or trial free music ringtones, maybe one or two, then you have to start paying for them. These ringtones can range from those with only music to those which actually contain the song lyrics.

I have also noticed that many companies now use free music ringtones as promotional gadgets, for example Pepsi Cola. For a while when you bought a Pepsi you would look under the hood and sometimes it would say a free ringtone. Of course you had to go to a website and download from a limited list, but it was still free. Sometimes you get messages from various companies giving codes to download free tones as recognition for frequenting them.

There were also some very weird commercials on TV in my hometown that gave you a code number to call to get a ringtone. I still don’t know what they were promoting.

I’m sure more of these types of promotions and free giveaways will keep popping up as people continue to obsess over the different crazy songs they can sing on their phones. And above all, these tones are largely inexpensive to obtain and with the current trends in the telephone industries we should expect increases in almost all included ringtones.
