Green Monster – Jungle Nu-jazz
Green Monster is the first song of the eponym album. I played it with my custom fretless guitar plugged into a Micro Synthesizer effect from Electro Harmonix.
I use this pedal often, especially with my fretless. It gives a sort of violin sound to the guitar, and offer a vast pallet of sound to enhance arrangements.
I like blending electro with a progressive jazz approach. Especially Jungle grooves. It’s almost impossible to play with a real drummer that can play, and hold this extremely fast groove without slowing down, and keeping up the pulse.
My childhood friend, WIlfreid Burgelin drew the cover. I used a lot of different versions of the image in the video below. The funny thing about this relationship is that I’ve never met him since I left my hometown in 1977. We only talk via Facebook or e-mail, and I do not even know what he looks like today. 41 years later!
You can listen to The Green Monster album at Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play / YouTube, Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, Microsoft Groove, ClaroMusica, Saavn, MediaNet et Shazam.
