Enhance Your Guitar Tone Easily
As you may know, I decided to launch my guitar parts website where I’m selling my electronic customs products and high quality and imported parts.
In this article, I am presenting a standalone six position varitone I am installing on most of my loaded pickguard.
If you want to install it on your pickguard, or any other non-Stratocaster model guitar you can buy a standalone varitone and quickly install it on your instrument with only two of three soldering to do.
In the video, I am playing my highly customized Fender modern player Stratocaster model. I installed it on that guitar along with a 500K no load pot.
Here are the different values of the capacitors featured on this particular varitone.
- 0.047uF
- 0.033uF
- 0.022uF
- 0.010uF
- 0.0047uF
- 0.001uF
0.047uF in the usual capacitor installed on a humbucker guitar type.
0.022uF is the capacitor value usually featured on single coils guitar.
As I explained the video, using a varitone obliged you to use the tone pot. If you’re the kind of guitar player that leaves the tone pot all the way up to 10, you won’t hear much difference is between each capacitor.
A capacitor is a treble filter. The smallest the value is the more it filters treble. You can hear the difference between each one in the lowest setting. Having a varitone is like having a tone pot going from 0 to 500 instead of 0 to 10.
A Varitone allows you to get all the sound you want. From a mellow tone to the most treble sound.
It’s easy to install. Be it on a Stratocaster or any other type of guitar. Needless to say, I am joining a PDF wiring master plan to help you customize your guitar.
You can get my six position varitone on my website following the link below.

I”m using that varitone on different guitars I own. You can listen to them in action in those videos
- Potion Magique. Installed on a custom hollow body stratocaster.
- Jensa. Using the same guitar and my Fender Stratocaster Modern PLayer.
