General Fraise is an old song of mine I recorded recently. I composed it in the early 90 to play with my jazz trio. Structure and arrangement changed a lot since the first day I played it. I removed all the unnecessary complicated parts that I was adding everywhere when I was younger.

I tried to keep it as simple as possible, even if it is a “complicated” composition.

I played the lead part using my airline map from Eastwood guitars. Even if I added a lot of effects to it, I tried to keep it as close to the original guitar sound as possible. I like that guitar because of the sustain and warm sound it has due to the chambered body.

I played the second guitar line using my custom-made solid body guitar I created a few of months ago.

The song starts in the key of F major when I play the first theme. Then, for the first solo it modulates in the key of G major. After I played the B section again in the new key of G major, I modulate in the key of A major for the last part of the guitar solo. I’m concluding the guitar solo with a long groove in the key of A where I paly riffs on the bass. I modulate back to the original key going backward in G and F before playing the theme again.

You can buy this song for the cheap price of $1.29 if you wish to download it.

Otherwise, you can listen to it for free right here.
